weekend at the chataeu

Saturday, husband and I left little Miss with my parents and headed to Branson to stay at Chateau on the Lake.  Its a beautiful resort hotel on Table Rock Lake.  Our stay was a gift from Adam's parents as a 5 year anniversary/housewarming gift.  We had never stayed there before, but definitely plan to visit again!

Caroline had the time of her life with Cece and Poppa!

The view from our room... it was so relaxing and beautiful.  The room had amazing blackout curtains and we slept until 10 am on Sunday morning!

We had the hotel brunch on Sunday. This was my desert plate. :/
Hey, I was on vacation!((And I pretty much only ate the strawberries.)

I never left the resort. Adam left only to go pick up Mexican food Sunday night and we ate it in the lounge next the fireplace and overlooking the lake.  By Sunday night the hotel was basically empty and we had the place to ourselves.  We had the best time just talking and laughing.

Monday morning we had breakfast again at the hotel restaurant (I had stuffed french toast and it was AWESOME.  ((Do you see a food theme, ha!) We then headed to the spa where we pretty much spent all day.  We had a couple's massage and I had a facial.  I guess I had never really been to a "full service" spa before, but we also got to enjoy the private hot tub, steam room, sauna, and lounges.  It was a Monday and we were the only ones there so had the place to our selves!  We ordered lunch and had it delivered to the hot tub.... we we're livin' it up!!

I got these off the website but they were exactly as pictured.  We had such a great weekend away. We missed C terribly, but it was very refreshing to sleep in and just spend time together. We also have a couple of busy weeks coming up so we were totally fine with foregoing shopping to relax instead.  We leave for Oklahoma City Friday to attend a Thunder game and a work meeting on Saturday... then leave for Disney World the next week! I'm glad my sleep tank is full!

Richardson Family Reunion

A few weekends ago we traveled to Lindon Tennessee for the Richardson Family Reunion.  I was a little girl the last time we had a reunion, but it was neat to go and take C.  Adam wasn't able to come because of work, and we sure missed him! I worked in Jonesboro for a couple of days while my parents kept C, then we all met up in Memphis to carpool to Lindon, which is in between Memphis and Nashville.  My cousin and her kids, my 2 uncles and aunt all went as well. We had a great time together.

We can't wait until next time!

#lashleeyazzawedding

This past week we headed to Destin for my best friend's wedding.  My best friend also happens to be Adam's second cousin.  Adam's parents flew to Destin and took Caroline with them.  We left Tuesday morning and were able to drive with only one stop!  My in- laws said Caroline did great on her first plane ride!

I have 5 best friends from 6th grade.  We are all still friends and while we are scattered across 3 states, we still talk on a weekly basis.  It's not often that we get together in person, but when we do we have a GOOD time. These are the kinds of girls that I can pick up right where we left off, no matter how long its been since we were last together. Jessica's parents rented a huge house at the beach for the wedding party.  We had so much fun. It's been a while since I stayed up past midnight several nights in a row! I laugh SO hard when I'm with these girls! My parents and my in- laws both made the trip for the wedding and took turns keeping C so that we could hang out with our buddies at the "animal house" as my dad called it. :)

Caroline was in her first wedding as a "flower baby." She and the 2 other babies did great and were of course cute as could be!

A beach wedding meant C's first beach trip! The weather was pretty chilly all week so we barely made it to the beach. She was definitely a fan of the beach and the pool.

The beautiful bride and I. Congrats Mr. and Mrs. Yazza!

fun family vaca 2012... destin fl

On Saturday we left for Destin. We're here for a week and today is Tuesday... its been glorious! I love sleeping in and that my hardest decision every day is choosing between the beach or the pool!  Being pregnant at the beach is a little different... it means not being in the sun for one thing. Today I literally didnt sit in the sun for 1 minute. I sat under a tent (for about 4 hours) and lathered on sunscreen. I still managed to get a little red. The only thing I can think is that the walk there and back is what did it.  My skin is extremely sensitive which is something Im not used to. I used to love lying in the sun for hours and coming home looking like a little Indian.  Also, being preg means I get to skimp on carrying beach gear and eat what I want without feeling too bad about it. :)

Last night we went to dinner at Louisiana Lagniappe. It. Was. Delish!  I had Pecan Grouper and it did not disappoint. I have literally been researching places to eat for a week. For me, eating good food is one my favorite parts of vacation. On Saturday night we ate a place that was pretty expensive for not so great food. That to me is a huge disappointment. (For the record- I did not pick that place!) I cooked tonight and tomorrow night we're having a shrimp boil here.  We plan to eat out a couple more times too. We also ate Krystal burger on the way down. My stomach still hurts- its pretty much the grossest thing ever (also not my food choice.) Anything attached to a gas station should be off limits for obvious reasons.

Husband and I after dinner Monday night.
After dinner we headed to the go kart track. The boys raced and husband got his booty kicked by Uncle Ted and Lee.
But then... he raced again by himself and started in last place and finished first. He may or may not have been racing some 8-10 year old boys. We gave him a hard time!

We have a great house with plenty of room. We have a view of the bay and are walking distance to the beach. Our little neighborhood has a pool which is nice. Some more pics...
Adam getting burried in the sand.
My view of my toes. :)
Dad instructing Ted and Adam how to build a sand castle.
 Me and brudder.
26 weeks pregnant. This view is on our back deck at sunset.

a secret

Today we found out the gender of our baby. We finally decided yesterday that if she could tell today, we would find out. If there was any doubt- that we wouldn't find out until baby Fite arrived in October! Our ultrasound tech said she was 99% sure! We're elated and can't wait to share with our friends and family this weekend.

I should have thought things through a little better... we have to go SIX days keeping this secret to ourselves! Keeping the pregnancy a secret wasn't hard for me... we didn't tell ANYONE until almost 7 weeks. But this... this is hard! We're just so excited!

The doctor's appointment went great and the heartbeat was 152 (perfection!) I did some lab work too. The next appointment will be my "official" ultrasound appointment when Dr. H will look closely at all of the structures of our baby. I had actually lost a pound this time... I think this was a mistake! I treated my baby to some Rick's for an afternoon snack for cooperating for the ultrasound tech so I'm sure that pound got added back by evening. :)

I'll post Sunday evening after our reveal parties over the weekend. We're having lunch at my mom and dad's Saturday where we will tell our parents and grandparents- then Sunday night we're having a few friends over for dessert to tell them. I can't wait! I'll hopefully get some pictures up from our trip.... here's one of my favorites from the week.
Adam overlooking #9 on Pebble Beach. I know his back is turned... but that's because I could barely get him to look at the camera during his golf round! He was so excited to play Pebble and I had a blast watching him. Isn't that view breathtaking? I could most definitely get used to that!
